About Author

Alejandro Jodorowsky (Author)  & Marianne Costa (Illustrator)

His profound studies of the tarot world started in the 1950s, and the result of that was this book. This is more than just a study of a divination system. The author, Alejandro Jodorowsky Prullansky, was born on 17th February 1929, and he is a Chilean film director, screenwriter, author, and poet. He’s also well-known as a composer and musician. He has quite the reputation of a spiritual guru too. He was best known for his avant-garde films.

His creations were very much influenced by cult cinema enthusiasts and are full of a violently surreal and hybrid blend of images of mysticism and religious provocations and conflictions. He has written many books on the art of tarot and in the matter of spiritualism, such as Psychomagic and The Spiritual Journey of Alejandro Jodorowsky. He is also the director of the legendary films called ‘El Topo’ and ‘The Holy Mountain.’

Marianne Costa started working with Alejandro in 1997, and she has been co-teaching workshops on tarot and family tree therapy. She’s the author of ‘No Woman’s Land.’ Both of the authors live in Paris, France.

Let’s check out more on The Way of Tarot

The Way of Tarot Review:

The author explores the world of western wisdom of tarot by explaining the Marseille Tarot. The nomadic cathedral of the tarot is also described and debunked in this book. The symbolic language of tarot is another topic of discussion. Overall, the author’s goal of revealing the tarot as a self-realization and healing method instead of a simple divination tool.

This book is designed and represented as a temple and a mandala that depicts both the meanings and sides of tarot as a divine and sacred art form. The authors take a deep dive into the roots of tarot in the western esoteric wisdom system.

The authors explore and describe the different symbols and meanings of the tarot cards between suits and human beings. The Major Arcana is explored like a hermetic symbolism. The section of the description of the cards speaks for itself.

Then Costa takes the depth of tarot art to the next level. Using their vast knowledge and Tarology and Astrology, they approach tarot with a psychological perspective, creating a mirror image of the personality. They offer a powerful tool for self-realization, creativity, and healing.
