So today I’m going to look at the differences between the Baralho Cigano and the Tarot. I have a Tarot Card deck that I got from the UK, and a Baralho Cigano deck that I got from Brazil. The Baralho Cigano deck is the older, original deck, and the Tarot is the more recent and popular deck, so I’m going to focus on the differences.
Tarot and Baralho Cigano are both considered by their fans to be highly accurate in providing guidance. They are both complex systems that are fairly easy to learn for the dedicated seeker. Really the only difference is that tarot was invented by humans with the intent to provide guidance, whereas Baralho Cigano is a much more primal tool that is merely designed to channel the will of the divine.

Tarot is a set of playing cards used for divination purposes. In ancient times tarot was used as card games; later it started to be used for divination purposes since then it is now used for occult purposes. A tarot deck contains 78 cards. These 78 cards are divided into your group’s major arcana and minor arcana.
Major Arcana contains 22 cards where big things are discussed and minor arcana contains 56 cards. These 56 cards have four suits and each suit has 14 cards which altogether make 56. Minor Arcana are related to the daily activities of our life.
Baralho Cigano
This is a Portuguese gypsy Lenormand deck for those who want to learn and use them. This deck provides all the methods and instructions on how to use the gypsy deck.
This deck has a clear image and language just like the other cards. It also included the meaning of each card, its combinations, and drawing methods. It is a perfect deck for beginners and also for those who are in search of finding answers to their questions.
Review of the differences between Tarot and Baralho Cigano
- Tarot is a fortune-telling deck whereas Baralho Cigano is a Lenormand deck.
- The Tarot deck contains 78 cards whereas Baralho Cigano contains 36 cards in a deck.
- Tarot is a European deck whereas Baralho Cigano is a Portuguese deck.
- Tarot decks provide varieties of decks related to many events of our life whereas Baralho Cigano includes directions and information on how to utilize them.
In general, the Tarot is a better choice than the Baralho Cigano. The Tarot deck offers a variety of things the Baralho Cigano does not — for instance, the ability to interpret the cards’ meanings and use them for divination. Conclusion:
In conclusion, I would say that for most people, it won’t be hard to pick Tarot or Baralho Cigano. For folk who have been practicing the art of Tarot for a few years, or have done a lot of Tarot readings, it is likely that they will have a preference for one of the decks, and I can’t see why that wouldn’t be the same for Celtic Cross. For those who are new to Tarot, it might be a better option.
